Data Collection, Usage & Privacy Policies

Nettrade Programmatic (Pty) Ltd and its subsidiaries have adopted this Privacy Policy for the website located at www.nettradeprogrammatic.com and to govern the data collection by Nettrade Programmatic across third party websites on behalf of our clients.

We are committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of all individuals with whom we interact and to fostering user confidence in online advertising.  Accordingly, we support and promote relevant industry guidelines.

We provide services for clients such as digital media services and purchase of inventory within ad exchanges and other media sources via Nettrade Programmatic’s partners. Nettrade Programmatic engages third party technology providers who facilitate the operation of this trading platform.

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to provide transparency around how we collect information online, in connection with our Services.

Information Collected Through our Services

The information collected through advertisements we manage on behalf of our clients is not personally identifiable information (PII). PII generally refers to identifying information such as a specific individual’s name, mailing address, phone number or e-mail address. We do not collect sensitive information, such as your political or religious beliefs, ethnic background, sexual preference, health or any other.

Non-Personal Information Collected by our Services

When conducting Services on behalf of its clients, we collect non-personally identifiable information (Non-PII) which anonymously identifies users that we may have interacted with before. For instance, by using Non-PII, we may be able to identify whether a web browser has previously been served with an advertisement that we launched on behalf of a client.  In the context of Non-PII, whenever we refer to you or yours, please remember that we may be referring to a user’s browser profile and not an identifiable person since we do not know the identity of the user of an internet enabled device at any particular time.

We collect and use Non-PII to offer a range of Services to our advertiser clients. By collecting Non-PII regarding your web browsing, usage or interactions with advertisements, our clients are able to show you the most useful and relevant online advertisements across numerous websites, and to prevent excessive or repeated deliveries of the same advertisements. For example, if a user browser’s profile indicates an interest in bicycle options, then our Services may help our clients deliver interest-based online advertisements to that user about a particular type of bicycle. In addition, Non-PII is also used for the purpose of research and analysis.

The nature of Non-PII collected may include information such as the type of internet browser used by an online user, the type of computer operating system used, the domain name of the websites visited before and after viewing an advertisement, and information related to websites and web pages a user is viewing when an advertisement is shown.

We collect Non-PII through the use of cookies, pixels and related technologies managed by our third-party partners. A cookie is a file on your web browser that uniquely identifies your web browser and computer. A pixel is a line of code which is used by a website or third party to match online activities to a particular computer or web browser. The use of a pixel allows websites and Nettrade Programmatic to record, for example, that a user has visited a particular web page. In addition, Non-PII from an earlier browsing session or interaction may be included in the pixel. Though Non-PII does not personally identify a specific individual, we are still committed to giving users the opportunity to exercise choice about the Non-PII we collect.

Should you wish to opt out of the use of cookies please see the section below titled “User Choice”.

Disclosure of Information to Third Parties

On occasion, we may disclose Non-PII collected through our Services, and information derived from it, to our clients and vendors.  This information does not include any PII that can be used to contact or identify any person individually. We encourage our clients to use any Non-PII they receive in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and to ensure that privacy policies are made available that tell you about how the information they are gathering is being used.  You are therefore encouraged to always read the privacy policies of the websites you visit to understand issues relating to your online privacy.

We may disclose a user’s Non-PII to third parties when we are obligated to do so by applicable law or regulation, and in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual prohibited activities.

We do not collect PII via our client’s advertisements, and therefore, we do not sell, rent, or share PII collected on our or other websites to non-affiliated third parties.  If you voluntarily provide PII to one of our clients whether via their advertisements, websites or any other online portal, then that PII will be provided to such client, and such PII shall be subject to that client’s privacy policy.

From time to time we may ask other members of the same group of companies, or third party service providers, to help us manage our information technology systems and to process PII (voluntarily provided on this website) and Non-PII (obtained on behalf of our clients when providing Services) on our behalf. Some of these entities or their servers may be located in countries overseas. We will only transfer your information to a third-party service provider or overseas, where we are satisfied that adequate levels of protection are in place to protect the integrity and security of any information being processed and in compliance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.
